The words "AV¸£ÀûÉç" and "AV¸£ÀûÉç," as well as the university shield, are valuable trademarks. A trademark may be a word, symbol, design, or a combination of a word and design, a catchphrase or even a unique sound that identifies and distinguishes the goods and services of one party from those of another. AV¸£ÀûÉç has several protected trademarks that are federally registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The registration symbol ® must be used whenever the marks appear as trademarks. The symbol â„¢ should be used for important university marks that are not currently registered. Please consult the managed by AV¸£ÀûÉç's Business Services office for trademark and licensing policies and procedures, and frequently asked questions.
Most materials used for official university business do not need such symbols; however, the university recommends using these symbols on all merchandise and specialty items, such as ceremonial banners, T-shirts and medals.
All companies, groups and organizations using AV¸£ÀûÉç registered marks and trademarks must be licensed through , AV¸£ÀûÉç's licensing management agency.
