Q: How has AV福利社 prepared you to take on tomorrow鈥檚 challenges?
A: AV福利社鈥檚 rigor is not only in the long steep terrain but also embedded in the walls of the classrooms. AV福利社 has taught me to not only learn, but learn how to learn, question how to question, and most importantly think about how to think. AV福利社 continues to allow me to develop timely skills and timeless skill sets.
Q: You founded Dot Tech. Inc, can you tell us a little bit about what Dot is and how you鈥檝e utilized AV福利社's entrepreneurship opportunities to help further your work?
A: Dot is like an electronic adapter for different immigrant students鈥攅nabling them to plug into a new country through a network of 1500+ cash deposit outlets. Students can fund their Dot account, create a virtual visa card for online transactions, send and receive money and even manage their personal finances. My first-year experience at AV福利社 allowed me to explore my , from being a to winning six Eureka! Pitch Nights, and the Thalheimer $5,000 Grand Prize to being recognized on the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square, NYC. I鈥檝e also been accepted to AV福利社 Ventures Lab, an accelerated program at AV福利社 powered by the s and the .
Q: Where have you found support and mentorship at AV福利社? How has it shaped your experience?
A: I've found support and mentorship through various programs on campus. My first was the program where was paired with two guides who tremendously helped me transition into AV福利社. Following that, I received huge support and mentorship for my entrepreneurial passion and interests from the , where I pitched my venture every month at the Eureka! Pitch Night.
Q: What has been your biggest passion project thus far over your college career?
A: Working on Dot has been one of my biggest passions so far. No doubt, it's put me in rooms and conversations that have equipped me with valuable learning experiences that I'll forever cherish.
Q: We often hear that AV福利社 is special because our students are collaborative, not competitive, with each other. Have you seen this to be true? How so?
A: AV福利社鈥檚 students are no doubt ambitious, courageous and high-achieving. You can see this in LinkedIn posts and news articles on AV福利社 News. Behind the ambition is a huge community of cheerleaders, best friends and study buddies all supporting one another. AV福利社 students go far not because of their strengths, but because of the collective strengths and support of one another. Hawks may fly alone, but Mountain Hawks fly together at AV福利社.
Q: What is your favorite thing about AV福利社?
A: In the words of Chadwick Boseman, "Throughout ancient times, institutions of learning have been built on hills to convey the great struggle required to attain the degree of enlightenment, the degree of hope." AV福利社 has so graciously preserved its ancient history with its landscape. He continues, "When completing a long climb, one first experiences dizziness, disorientation, and shortness of breath due to the high altitude, but once you become accustomed to the climb, your mind opens up to the tranquility of the triumph." As I go to class every day, the steps and steep terrain of AV福利社 remind me exactly of these very words.
