The 4+1 format offers students the opportunity to earn a Master of Science in Financial Engineering at an accelerated pace. Students accepted into the 4+1 accelerated program begin taking graduate classes during their junior and senior years and can complete the program one year after earning their undergraduate degree. Current AV福利社 students who earn a minimum overall GPA of 3.5, may elect to be enrolled in the 4+1 accelerated program once they achieve junior standing - a minimum of 54 credits. Students in these programs who do not qualify for direct admittance to the MS or MPH based on their GPA must apply for acceptance and two letters of recommendation are required.
Imagine being instrumental in the creation of innovative solutions for real financial problems, or using state of the art analytical techniques and computing technology. AV福利社鈥檚 prepares students to do just that by providing them with a strong education in advanced finance and quantitative financial analysis, using key concepts from financial theory, applied mathematics, and engineering.
After completing the program, graduates will be able to add immediate value to their firm鈥檚 pricing, hedging, trading, and portfolio management decisions by conceptualizing real world problems with mathematical tools, models, and theories of investment instruments and financial portfolio management; demonstrating proficiency in locating, creating, managing, and analyzing large scale data sets with advanced computing tools; integrating tools in probability, optimization, simulation, and information technology; and bridging the knowledge and skill gaps between financial and computing/execution professionals.
